Discover Little Tina

Is it just me or does Downtown Tampa sometimes feel like it’s just not where it needs to be? We all see the growth happening around the city but it feels like the heart of Downtown Tampa (no not water street) is missing cohesion. Things feel scattered and little scarce at times, but let me assure you, if you know where to look, there are secret treasures lurking all around. This leads me to today’s review, Little Tina.

There's something incredibly rewarding when you happen to stumble across a hidden gem. You’re driving around, or perhaps, taking a brisk walk when all of a sudden you see something that catches your eye and immediately pulls you in. You walk inside and your mind begins racing as you look around and try to process what you’ve just discovered. You whip out your phone and immediately send your closest friends a message “I just found an awesome new spot!
You try not to get ahead of yourself and quickly reach for the menu to see just what they’re all about. Lo and behold the prices aren’t bad and they have a great selection. Now if you haven’t caught on by now, this essentially describes my encounter with Little Tina.

Little Tina, nestled in the heart of Downtown Tampa near Curtis Hixon Park, is a the perfect hole-in-the-wall to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

A Relaxing, Laid-Back Environment

From the moment you walk into Little Tina, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that invites you to relax and unwind. The aesthetics of the place can be described as beachy, Mediterranean or maybe even Tulum-esc. The beach-themed decor instantly transports you to a serene coastal escape, making it the perfect spot to take a break from the city’s fast-ish pace. Whether you’re looking to catch up with friends, enjoy some alone time, or dive into a good book, Little Tina’s cozy ambiance has you covered.

Good, Balanced Coffee

Let’s talk about the main ingredient, their coffee. On this day, the temperatures were just north of 90 degrees Fahrenheit, where you walk outside and immediately begin to sweat profusely from stepping into a thick layer of humidity. This made my choice obvious as I asked for an iced drink. Mine being an oat-milk iced latte. The wifey valiantly opted for a cappuccino. Both were a hit. The ice latte wasn’t overpowered by either the espresso nor the milk and the cappuccino was foamed to perfection.

A Menu with Plenty of Options

One of the standout features of Little Tina that separates them from most other cafés is its diverse menu. Whether you’re in the mood for a sweet treat or something more substantial, they’ve got you covered. Their pastries are baked fresh daily, offering a delectable array of options from buttery croissants to decadent muffins. I couldn’t resist the temptation of the chocolate chip muffin looking at me in the face from behind the glass. My wife had more restraint and ordered their yogurt fruit bowl, again, didn’t miss. The fruits were fresh and the portions were just right. The muffin? 🤌🏼

Embracing the Beach Theme

Little Tina’s beach theme is more than just decor—it’s a vibe. The light, airy design with soft blues and sandy neutrals creates a calming seaside atmosphere. You’ll find touches of the beach throughout the shop, from the white wood wall paneling to the little scents they pepper all around. It’s a little slice of coastal paradise right in the heart of downtown.

The Perfect Place to Work

If you’re looking for a great spot to get some work done, Little Tina is ideal. The seating is comfortable and plentiful, with both communal tables and cozy corners to choose from. Ambient music plays softly in the background, providing a soothing backdrop that helps you focus without being distracting. Plus, the WiFi is strong and reliable, making it a fantastic place to settle in with your laptop. I was able to get lost in some work and feel relaxed at the same time.

Conveniently Located

Situated near Curtis Hixon Park, Little Tina is perfectly positioned for both locals and visitors exploring Downtown Tampa. After grabbing your coffee, you can take a leisurely stroll through the park, enjoy the waterfront views, or even catch one of the many events held there. It’s a great spot to start or end your downtown adventures.

Little Tina isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a haven of relaxation and good vibes. With its balanced coffee, diverse menu, and inviting beach-themed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to escape the daily grind.
